Asus’s new super-slim nettop is called teh Eee Box EB1031. Despite it’s slim exeterior, it packs the latest and fastest Atom chip so far, the 2.13 GHz Intel Atom D2700 Cedar Trail processor with support for 1080p HD video playback;  The motheboard hosts up to 4GB of RAM, and a 2.5″ hard drive bay with support for up to 500GB of storage.  The EB1031 also as USB 3.0 support, HDMI output, a D-sub port, flash card reader and built-in WiFi.

No word on pricing yet,  but it should be available in March.  Asus is marketing this particular model for business and point f sale use, but hopefully Asus will offer a consumer version of the nettop as well.

Up until now, the Asus Eee Box line of nettops has been exclusively powered by Intel Atom chips.   Sure, some high performance models had NVIDIA graphics processors, but under the hood every Eee Box had Intel inside. Now, however, two new Intel Eee Boxes will be powered by the brand new AMD processors.

The Asus Eee Box EB1021 has a 1.6 GHz AMD E-350 dual core processor and Radeon HD 6310 graphics. It supports Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit or Windows 7 Professional and can handle up to 4GB of RAM. The computer will be available with up to 320GB of hard drive space, 802.11n WiFi, Gigabit Ethernet, and a decent array of ports including HDMI and D-Sub out jacks, 2 USB 3.0 ports, and 4 USB 2.0 ports.

The EB1021 consumes between 11W and 27.5W of power which is pretty good by desktop PC standards, even if it seems like a bit of an energy hog compared to its sibling, the Asus Eee Box EB1020.

The Eee Box EB1020 uses between 9W and 19W of energy, thanks to a 1 GHz AMD C-50 dual core processor and Radeon HD 6250 graphics. In my test, this chip offers Intel Atom-like performance for most tasks, but much better performance with 3D graphics and HD video.

The EB1020 is nearly identical to the EB1021. Both models measure 8.7″ x 7″x 1.2″ and weigh 2.4 pounds. Both models include a desktop stand, so you can use them on your desk or you can mount them to the back of a display with an optional VESA mount.

Asus ‘s Eee Box nettops, up untl now, has featured Intel’s Atom processor.  Now, with the new EB1020 and EB1021 models, comes a new processor option in the form of the new AMD Fusion chips.  The Eee Box EB1020 features a 1 GHz AMD C-50 dual core processor with AMD Radeon HD 6250 graphics.  Stepping it up a notch, the Eee Box EB1021, on the other hand, packs a more powerful 1.6 GHz AMD E-350 dual core chip and Radeon HD 6310 graphics. It also has USB 3.0 support, which the EB1020 lacks.

The folks at Notebook Italia spotted the nettops at CeBIT in Germany and shot a  hands-on video (check it out after teh break).  *Note, the AMD C-50 is actually a dual core chip, not a single core chip as mentioned in the video.

UPDATE:  Asus UK tells the folks at Electric Pig that the EB1501P will be available there late in the third quarter of early in the fourth quarter of 2010. The Eee Box EB1501P is expected to sell for about £379 including VAT, which is about $600 US

ASUS is gearing up to replace its aging EeeBox EB1501 with the EB1501P. It will reportedly be based around Intel’s dual-core Atom D525 processor and feature NVIDIA’s Ion graphics processor, a 250GB hard drive, 2GB of DDR3 memory, 802.11n WiFi, an HDMI output, six USB sockets and Bluetooth.

That fits quite nicely with the EB1501U (shown above) that we spotted back at CeBIT, which has yet to launch in any capacity since. A proper introduction at IFA, perhaps? We’ll be watching, ASUS.

The intentions from Asus are clear with the new EB1012P nettop.  With a more powerful than usual Intel Atom D510 processor (1.66GHz, dual core), next generation ION, HDMI and 5.1 channel audio, this nettop looks destined to be a HTPC out of the box.  Of course, there’s also VGA out, standard audio jacks, a card reader, USB 3.0 , eSATA, LAN, Gigabit LAN, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, 2.5” SATA storage (250GB / 320GB HDD) and Windows 7 Home Premium.

Price has been rumored to be around $400 but availability is not known yet.

In Japan, ASUS has launched it EeeTop PC ET1610PT.  It’s a 15.6-inch all-in-one that packs a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom D410 CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, 802.11b/g/n wireless, six USB ports, and a 5-in-1 card reader. There’s Windows 7 Premium to run it all, and an optional touchscreen for control.  We like the sleek design of this all-in one, and the relatively small screen keeps things nice and compact.  We’re thinking the touchscreen option will be obligatory to keep from having to have a clunky keyboard and mouse around all the time.

You can grab one up starting June 10th (in Japan, of course) for ¥52,800, or somewhere in the realm of $580.

ASUS showcased two of their latest nettops over at Computex 2010 last week – one of which is the EB1015P. Notebook Italia took a look, and has a hands-on video after the break.  First impressions are pretty good.  The EB1015P uses an Intel Atom D525 processor (1.8GHz, dual core), same specs with USB 3.0. There’s no  mention of blu-ray for the drive, so we suppose it’s standard DVD-RW.

There’s also a great looking wireless chiclet keyboard and mouse sets and will be available in either black and white.

Asus Eee Box EB1012p

Asus is pumping out these Eee Box variations at quite a rate now and just a few weeks ago we saw the budget Asus Eee Box EB1007, which seems to share the same case as this 1012P, except in White. There’s one major difference though, the Eee Box EB1012P has next-generation NVIDIA ION graphics.

The mini-desktop also sports a 1.66GHz Intel Atom D510 dual core processor, HDMI output, 5.1 channel audio, VGA, 6 USB ports, an eSAA port, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, and Windows 7 Home Premium. It has a 2.5″ hard drive and supports up to 2GB of DDR2 memory.

There’s no word on pricing or availability yet.

Yes, the Asus Eee Keyboard is available and shipping now for $599 at Amazon.com.  It almost brings a tear to our eye, and some of us thought this day might never come, but the EeeKeyboard is at long last ready for public consumption.

Just in case you’ve missed the 2 year run up , the specs of this keyboard shaped nettop include an Atom N270, a gig of RAM, and good ‘ole  Windows XP .  There’s aA 5-inch 800 x 480 multitouch display is supported by a Broadcom Crystal HD chip for decoding of high-def video, UWB connectivity to wirelessly stream to a nearby HDTV, and a battery that promises four hours of autonomous use.
