We got a first glimpse of the Asus Eee Top ET2010 nettop back in March, and even then we could tell that it was going to be a looker. Today, Nettop Review UK picked up on a UK press release revealing it’s imminent release to UK retail frontiers. The ET2010 nettop is complete with an AMD Athlon II CPU, 1GB or 2GB of RAM, a DVD drive and a total depth of just one inch. The multitouch version gets going at £619.99. That’s about $800-900 of your hard earned dollars, but we’re betting actual US retail will be about $699.
The Asus Eee Keyboard is finally official and now Asus has even offered up the official tech specs. As you probably know by now, the Asus Eee Keyboard is essentially a nettop crammed into a keyboard form factor, with a small 5″ display where a keyboard’s number pad usually resides. It has the ability to send HD video to your monitor or tv via a wireless HD video port and thus aims to be the ultimate couch accessory.
Today, the full specs and features of the Asus Eee Keyboard were revealed:
- 5-inch 800×480 multi-touch panel
- Intel Atom N270 CPU
- 945GSE / ICH70M chipset
- 1GB RAM
- 16GB/32GB SSD
- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
- up to 4 hour battery life
- 3 USB 2.0, HDMI, 1 VGA port
While we can live with the older generation AtomN270 processor, the mere 4 hour battery life is a bit dissapointing. Hopefully Asus can upgrade the processor to the more energy efficient Atom N450 soon.
It looks like the last post regarding the Asus Eee Keyboard was the truth and it’s actually going to be released soon. Amazon has it up for pre-order now, priced at $599.
The Eee Keyboard is basically a netbook, without the screen, but in form of a keyboard. has all the specs of a 2009 model netbook, including a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, and Windows XP Home Edition. But it’s not a netbook. Instead it’s a keyboard with a computer stuffed inside, plus a wireless HDMI transmitter that lets you use your HDTV as a monitor.
There’s also a built in 5 inch, 800 x 480 pixel multitouch display for viewing widgets, launching apps, and performing other tasks. The computer has 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetoth 2.1, and 10/100/1000 Ethernet connectivity, a 16GB solid state disk, VGA output, and 3 USB ports.
No word on when the Eee Keyboard will start shipping, but if you’re still interested you can pre-order one from Amazon today.

Asus’s new Eee Box EB1007 has been added to their product pages. It may not look much different from Asus’s existing nettop range, but the EB1007 has new Intel Pinetrail power under the hood.
The EB1007 has a 1.66GHz Intel Atom D410 single core processor, 1GB of DDR2 800MHz RAM, a 160GB 2.5″ hard drive, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, 6 USB ports, a SDHC card reader, S/PDIF and D-sub ports, and an eSATA port. It measures 8.8″ x 7″ x 1.1″ and weighs 2.6 pounds. Options include a keyboard and mouse, stand, and VESA Mount kit for attaching the nettop to the back of your monitor or a TV.
Interestingly, it runs Windows XP – for now at least. We hope there will be a Windows 7 option soon.
There’s no word on pricing or availability yet.

UPDATE: Engadget has received official word that the Asus Eee Keyboard will be shipping this month. Joanna at Engadget got confirmation here, and with this promo video if might even be real this time!
We’re not sure if we can even call it a nettop, but the ASUS Eee Keyboard is supposedly finally going on sale this month priced at around $500 – $600. We hold no real hope that this time the date is for real, but this is the official promo video, which is a good sign.
